Yona Rozen

Ms. Rozen has been in private practice in Dallas, Texas, since October, 1983, representing unions and individuals in various federal and state courts, administrative proceedings, and arbitration cases, exclusively in the area of labor and employment law. Ms Rozen is Board Certified Labor and Employment Law.  She represents individual clients, corporate executives and unions in arbitration, mediation, civil trials, and appeals involving discharge, discrimination, sexual harassment, and employment matters.  Ms. Rozen has tried major jury trials involving employment law, including claims of age discrimination, race and national origin discrimination, sex discrimination, sexual harassment, retaliation, and breach of employment contracts.

Education:

In 1974, Ms. Rozen obtained a B.A. in History and Political Science at Pennsylvania State University and in 1978 she obtained a J.D. at Vanderbilt School of Law.  

Memberships:

Ms. Rozen is a member of the Labor and Employment Law Section of the American Bar Association and the Labor and Employment Section of the State Bar of Texas.  She served as Chairman of the Labor and Employment Section of the State Bar of Texas for the 1991-1992 term.  She is a member of the National Employment Lawyers Association (NELA), the AFL-CIO Lawyers Coordinating Committee (LCC) (presently serving on the LCC Board of Directors), a founding member of the Texas Employment Lawyers Association (TELA) and a member of  the American Association for Justice (formerly ATLA).  She has been named continuously in Best Lawyers in America since 1997 and has been named by Texas Monthly as a “Super Lawyer” every year 2003-2009. She is a Fellow in the College of Labor and Employment Lawyers. 

Biography:

From 1978 through 1981, Ms. Rozen was a field attorney in Region 3 of the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB) in Buffalo, New York.  She then transferred to a Staff Attorney position in the Division of Advice in the NLRB's Washington, D.C. headquarters.  She held that position through October, 1983.  She has frequently appeared as a speaker at various labor and employment law seminars, and has participated in planning committees for national and state CLE programs.
